Normal tone is cold. Warm tone prints can be made on fiber based paper only, but neither conventional warm tone paper nor sepia chemicals meet my quality standards. For a warm copper to purplish tone I use chloro-bromide paper and strong selenium.
Frames are quality black lacquered wood for cold tone prints and natural wood for warm tone prints. Frame width is 1.2" for 11" x 14" prints and 1.8" for 16" x20" prints. I don't use glass as the archivally processed print is very resistant to pollutants and fading.
All prints are signed limited editions of 150. All material is copyright protected and cannot be reproduced. Ten day money back guarantee except for postage.

I’m a retired Geologist and Mining Engineer, but photography has always been a special interest. Reflecting my career and my love of the outdoors, much of my work involves rural landscapes with the touch of man - be it an old car or a Scottish castle. Over the years I’ve evolved from 35mm color photography to medium and large format black & white photography using traditional equipment and processes. My early color photography was about capturing beauty as seen by the eye. Black & white photography is about emotions and mental abstractions. The difficulties restrict my portfolios, but the results are rewarding. Enjoy, and let your mind wander.
Technical information: All photos are made with medium format (6x7 cm) or large format camera (4"x5" or 5"x7"). I develop my negatives and print them in my darkroom. There is no digital manipulation. Prints up to 16" x 20" are made on air dried glossy double weight fiber-based paper, archivally processed and selenium toned for extra richness and longevity. Prints 20" x 24" are made on semi-gloss resin coated paper.
